Preparations Underway for Int’l Buddhist Chanting Ceremony
The World Peace Association (WPA) team met with leaders of the Buddha Dharma Mahabihar Sangye Choeling Monastery on December 19 for a working lunch at the monastery. Along with the WPA and Nepal’s Ministry of Tourism, the Buddha Dharma Mahabihar Sangye Choeling Monastery is one of the co-hosts for the upcoming International Buddhist Chanting Ceremony, to be held on January 3, 2020, in Kathmandu, Nepal.
After a productive working lunch, WPA Secretary-General Sattva Zhang and Project Manager Emmanuel Escoto Gonzalez met with Minister Yogesh Battarai at Nepal’s Ministry of Tourism. Discussions included arrangements to receive Madam President Bidhya Devi Bhandari at the upcoming ceremony and a shipment of organic teas that the WPA will donate to local monks and families living in poverty.
The meeting also included steps to host a meeting between Chinese investors and Nepal’s Ministries of Tourism and Commerce on the afternoon of January 3, to explore investment opportunities and the incentives for investment offered by Nepal.
Finishing off the meeting, WPA representatives and its international delegation were invited to attend the official launch of the Visit Nepal 2020 campaign on New Year’s Day, January 1.
